Premium putter brand enjoying a stellar season with eight Tour wins

Bettinardi Golf, the specialist milled putter manufacturer based in Chicago, has enjoyed its best ever season with standout victories on both the PGA and European Tours.

Victory with the brand’s Studio Stock #8 blade putter at the British Masters at Walton Heath, is the eighth on Tour this season, plus a number of top-10 finishes with over $6 million won by players using a Bettinardi putter.

The stellar season has included the brand’s third Major Championship victory, with Francesco Molinari’s win at The Open at Carnoustie in July. The Italian has enjoyed his best season on Tour after switching to his custom DASS BBZero model in May. He then won the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth shortly after and claimed his first PGA Tour victory at the Quicken Loans National in June.

“This season has been truly remarkable and one that will continue to expand the brand’s global reputation,” said CEO and founder, Robert Bettinardi.

“We’re proud to have brand ambassadors around the world represent us in the professional manner they have over the years. We share their passion for golf and it’s great to see them in play in front of millions of fans around the world,” he added.

China’s newest golfing superstar Haotong Li was first on the 2018 winner’s podium using his custom Studio Stock 3 Tour Edition putter to win the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in January. The European Tour labelled Li’s performance in the final round as ‘putting perfection’, after he holed 14 out of 14 putts inside 10 foot and ranked 1st in both putts per GIR (1.49) and putts per round (23.8).

Another title followed in February at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, with the same player and putter proving to be a winning combination as they were in Surrey this past weekend. Two victories have also come on the Mackenzie Tour (PGA Canadian Tour).

Since the brand was established in 1999, Bettinardi putters have won 69 professional victories around the world in more than 40 countries.

Other brand ambassadors include some of the biggest names in golf with Matt Kuchar (Kuchar Model 1 ArmLock) and Fred Couples (FCB – Fred Couples Blade) alongside the new global stars of Francesco and Haotong.

Bettinardi Golf is one of the fastest-growing equipment brands in golf.  It has become famous for its hand-crafted putters made in the USA from a single piece of high-quality steel using hi-tech CNC milling technology.

Paris performance follows Open Championship glory in sizzling summer of golf

Armed with the confidence gained from his trusted hand-crafted Bettinardi putter, the Open Champion became the first ever European Ryder Cup player to win all five matches in the bi-annual event, where his standout performance on the greens saw him win 34 out of the 75 holes (45% played at Le Golf National, recording 25 birdies in the process.

Always known as one of the straightest hitters on Tour, it was once believed that putting under pressure was his Achilles heel. But, since he put a Bettinardi putter in the bag, he has climbed 15 places in the Official World Golf Rankings (OGWR), earning more than $6 million in prize money. The 35-year-old Italian currently sits 6th in the world following a sizzling summer of golf. He currently leads the European Tour Race to Dubai rankings with the season ending DP World Tour Championships coming up in November, following a 17th place finish in the PGA Tour FedEx Cup.

Francesco currently averages 1.775 in putts per GIR on the European Tour this season along with an average of just under seven single putts per round. On the PGA Tour, his putting average is down to 1.546 with a 30% birdie or better conversion rate on GIR hit.

The popular Italian signed with Bettinardi at the start of the year and switched to his current Double Aged Stainless Steel (DASS) BBZero Tour putter before the Players Championship in May. Before his first Major win, Molinari claimed the European Tour’s flagship event at Wentworth - the BMW PGA Championship - and followed up with his first PGA Tour title at the Quicken Loans National in July with a resounding eight-shot victory.

“To be the best, you have to use the best and that’s why I choose Bettinardi,” said Francesco, during a recent visit to the state-of-the art Bettinardi factory, just outside of Chicago where his putter was hand-crafted from a single piece of high-quality milled double-aged stainless steel using hi-tech CNC milling technology.

“We’re so proud to see how much confidence Francesco has gained from using one of our custom-built putters,” said company President Robert Bettinardi. “He keeps topping up his achievements and breaking records and as a brand with an Italian heritage, we could not wish for better playing ambassador.“He’s now a global player and his achievements amount to a great story for us, which shows if you get the custom-fitting for the most important club in the bag right, then results will surely follow,” he added.

  • Molinari becomes Champion Golfer with Bettinardi putter

-World-class putting performance lands Italy’s first Major golf title-

Francesco Molinari withstood a final round challenge from playing partner Tiger Woods to win his first Major title at the 147th Open Championship with another world-class putting performance using his Bettinardi BBZero Tour putter.

The new Champion Golfer of the Year and the most consistent player in the world in recent months, birdied the formidable 18th hole for a final bogey-free round of 69 and a two-shot victory at Carnoustie, where his putts per GIR amounted to 1.770. Starting three shots back from the leaders, including defending champion Jordan Spieth, he became the fifth golfer to hold the lead during a captivating day, as his last putt secured Italy’s first Major title four years before the country hosts The Ryder Cup.

The popular Italian signed with Bettinardi at the start of the year and switched to his current Double Aged Stainless Steel (DASS) BBZero Tour putter before the Players Championship in May, ahead of winning the BMW PGA Championship and achieving his first PGA Tour title at the Quicken Loans National earlier this month with a resounding eight-shot victory.

Armed with the confidence gained from his trusted Bettinardi putter, Francesco has now achieved a remarkable sequence of three wins and two runner-up spots in his last six starts. At the toughest of the British Open venues, he played 37 holes without dropping a shot and managed an unrivalled bogey-free weekend on the wind-swept links course. Always known as one of the straightest hitters on Tour, it was once believed that putting under pressure was his Achilles heel. Not any longer, as he now ranks at No.6 in the world.

“I think it will take a long time for this to sink in,” said Francesco after accepting the Claret Jug. “To go bogey-free at the weekend around a track like this, it’s very good. I was as calm as you can be in the final round in The Open. I felt like I was ready for it,” added the 35-year-old, who recently visit the Bettinardi plant in Chicago where his putter was crafted.

“We’re so proud to see Francesco winning his first Major title and become the hottest player in the world right now with a Bettinardi putter that we created for him,” said company President Robert Bettinardi. “Francesco’s magnificent achievement tops off a remarkable run of performances with a putter that clearly gives him enormous confidence every time he plays and our brand with an Italian heritage could not have a better playing ambassador,” he added.

  • Molinari claims first PGA Tour title with putting masterclass

    QL

    - Italian’s Bettinardi putter proves red hot on way to an 8-shot victory-

Francesco Molinari produced a masterclass on the greens with his latest Bettinardi putter, holing more than 120 feet of putts during the final round to win his maiden PGA Tour title with an eight-shot victory at the Quicken Loans National.

Using a Bettinardi Double Aged Stainless Steel (DASS) BBZero Tour model, with FIT Face Milling and a sight dot on the top, the world number 17 carded a bogey-free course record, eight under 62, to finish on a tournament record 21 under par.

The popular Italian gave an imperious performance in leading the event, which included a back-nine of 29. He was six-under through holes 10-14 at TPC Potomac, Maryland and his round featured seven single putts, including a 50-foot eagle putt on the 10th hole.

Molinari signed with Bettinardi at the start of the year and has worked closely with famed putter maker Robert Bettinardi to create the best model for his game. He switched to his current putter before the Players Championship in May ahead of winning the European Tour’s flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth a few weeks later.

“Francesco has put his trust in Bettinardi because of our ability to make any small adjustments at short notice, while retaining the premium quality of the putter” said Sam Bettinardi, Head of Sales and Marketing. “He’s proud to be working with a company that has Italian heritage and superior craftsmanship. If he calls us, we can move quickly to get his putter built and with Robert’s office 15 feet away from the shop floor, he can oversee everything and gives Francesco great confidence in the final product.

“Together we have created the perfect putter for him and he has enormous confidence in the BBZero Tour model, which he’s shown with two impressive victories in the last five weeks,” added Sam.

Tournament host, Tiger Woods, described Molinari’s performance as ‘phenomenal’ and Sky Sports pundit and Francesco’s coach, Denis Pugh mentioned on air, that confidence with his putter is at an all-time high.

“Everyone knows Francesco is a straight driver and he’s always had a laser-like iron game, but now he’s found inspiration with his putter and he’s not wasting shots on the greens anymore,” said Pugh.

Molinari only had two bogeys all week as he posted four rounds in the 60’s (67-65-65-62) and finished 1st in the putting statistics (GIR) with 105 on 62.

The victory lifted him to 42nd in the FedEx Cup ranking and puts him on course to qualify for the Tour Championship, which he narrowly missed last year. He also cemented his position in the European Points List for automatic qualification for the Ryder Cup in September.

The 35-year-old, who has former US Ryder Cup captain Dave Stockton as his putting coach, has had an impressive season playing on both sides of the Atlantic. He followed up the comprehensive victory at Wentworth with a runners-up spot at his home event, the Italian Open and a top-25 finish at the US Open.

Molinari has amassed nearly $30 million in prize money with six career victories, following wins at the WGC HSBC Champions in 2010 and two wins at the Italian Open a decade apart in 2006 and 2016. He also won the Open de España in 2012.

Having turned pro in 2004, he has represented Europe twice at the Ryder Cup - winning in both 2010 at Celtic Manor and in 2012 at Medinah. He also won the Omega Mission Hills World Cup for Italy in 2009, playing alongside his brother Edoardo.

    - Sensational round with Studio Stock model brings record win in Dubai -

China’s new golfing superstar Haotong Li produced ‘putting perfection’ with his Bettinardi Custom Studio Stock 3 Tour Edition putter to win in Dubai last weekend and break a host of records.

The European Tour labelled Li’s performance in the final round with his Bettinardi putter as ‘putting perfection’ after he holed 14 out of 14 putts inside 10 foot and ranked 1st in both putts per GIR (1.49) and putts per round (23.8). Earlier in the round Li holed a putt from off the 15th green for birdie to level scores with Rory McIlroy after being two behind through 10 holes.

“The last four holes (I hit) some of the best shots in my life,” said 22-year-old Li, who now sits second in the European Tour’s Race to Dubai.

Winning by a stroke under incredible pressure in Dubai further cemented Li’s reputation as one of the Tour’s great clutch performers, following his closing 63 at The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale and his 64 to win the Volvo China Open on home soil last season.

“The impact this victory will have in China will be massive for the Bettinardi brand and vindicates our decision to grow our Tour Team this season,” said Robert Bettinardi, President and CEO of Bettinardi Golf. “Signing such an exciting prospect in Li truly expanded the global appeal among Tour players in our brand,” he added.

The latest member of Team Bettinardi alongside Matt Kuchar, Francesco Molinari and Fred Couples, Li became the holder of the lowest score at 23 under par; the first Asian winner of the event; and the first Chinese player on the men’s Tour to break into the world’s top 50.

In securing the Omega Dubai Desert Classic as his second European Tour title, Li registered an impressive total of 30 birdies during the tournament.

    - Italian wins his biggest ever prize with model chosen a few weeks ago -

Francesco Molinari captured the European Tour’s flagship BMW PGA Championship title and a $1.1m prize today after a flawless bogey-free weekend using a new Bettinardi putter he switched to just a few weeks ago.

Bettinardi’s Double Aged Stainless Steel (DASS) BBZero Tour model, with FIT Face Milling and a sight dot on the top, proved the perfect companion for the 35-year-old over the final stages of the demanding Wentworth Club course, as he finished two shots ahead of three-time Major winner Rory McIlroy.

Molinari, who was runner-up in the event last year and has been in contention on several occasions in the past, recorded his maiden victory in the Tour’s Rolex Series and his fifth Tour title to end the day in third spot on the Race to Dubai. He also catapulted himself into fourth spot on the European Points List and into the projected automatic qualification places for The Ryder Cup in September.

“It’s great to come out on top after being close so many times down the years,” said Francesco, who can now look forward to returning home this week for the Italian Open – an event he won two years ago. “Today was another very solid day for me and it was just enough to get me over the line.”

The victory lifted Molinari’s earnings on the European Tour this season to $1.7m after just four events and he is averaging 27.3 putts and 1.712 putts per GIR.

He is the second Team Bettinardi player to win on the European Tour this season and the third overall, following Haotong Li’s victory with a Studio Stock 3 Tour putter in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in January. Other Team Bettinardi players include Matt Kuchar and Fred Couples.

  • Bettinardi's New Eye-Catching 2018 Range

    2017--Bettinardi-Logo

    Bettinardi's New Eye-Catching 2018 Range

Bettinardi Golf, the specialist milled putter manufacturer that has gained market share across Europe, is introducing five new putters for the 2018 season, including a brand new BB Series collection and a innovative iNOVAi 5.0 selection.

The full 2018 range, consisting of 12 premium putters across its four striking series - including the popular Queen B and Studio Stock models - is hand-crafted from a single piece of high-quality milled carbon steel using hi-tech CNC milling technology at the brand’s state-of-the-art factory, just outside Chicago.

“We’re extremely excited with the range for this season, as we have even more innovative technology mixed with the best face-milling technology in the game,” said Sam Bettinardi, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “We have increased the Bettinardi Tour presence across the PGA, European and LPGA Tours and used the feedback from many elite players to refine a range that offers a putter to suit every golfer,” he added.

    BB SERIES - RRP £279

    bb-line-up-2018

The new BB Series, which has been part of the Bettinardi line-up since its creation in 1999, features a striking new look and innovative technology that encompasses the Bettinardi drive for perfection on every model.

Bettinardi Golf launch eye-catching putter range finished in a durable ‘stealth’ Matte Black colourway, the four new BB models feature the distinctive Bettinardi branding in eye-catching electric yellow, with the same colour used in the exclusive deep-etched Lamkin corded grip.

The new Super-Fly Mill Face milling featured on all BB models offers a responsive feel at impaade for players looking consistent speed and feel.

The classic heel-to-toe weighted BB1 blade had been updated with a soft Carbon Steel head to complement its indented neck that flows into the steel shaft.

Its new blade partner is the more offset BB29, which encourages golfers to set the hands further forward at address and throughout the stroke. The indented neck is ridge-milled with the head featuring squared shaped bumpers on both the heel and toe, plus a rounded topline to frame the ball effortlessly at address.

Another newcomer to the range is the BB39 half-moon mallet, made with soft Carbon Steel, that provides higher perimeter weighting for a greater MOI (Moment of Inertia). “Additional MOI means the head is less likely to twist and turn at impact because of its deeper profile and sleek frame,” explained Sam. The BB39 also includes added material on the flange extending from the topline to the rear, making it easier to line-up with the elongated sight line.

Completing the BB series is the BB56 that adds a new element to the putter category by raising the centre of gravity (COG) higher on the putter. The look of the BB56 is different to that of a traditional mallet style and with a higher COG, the ball will promote a quicker end over roll off the putter face and feel more solid at impact. Weighing 350g, the head is made from 6061 Aluminium and 303 Stainless Steel.

All BB Series putters come in 33”- 35”length options. The BB1 and BB29 features 70° Lie and 3° loft with a 1/2 toe hang; the BB39 comes in 70° lie, 3° loft and 1/8 toe hang; and the BB56 includes 70° lie, 2° loft and 1/8 toe hang. The BB1 and BB56 are also available in left handed models.

    iNOVAi 5.0 - RRP £279

    inovai-line-up-2018

Following on from the successful 3.0 model, the new iNOVAi 5.0 fuses motion science with detailed craftsmanship that connects the 303

Stainless Steel piece in the rear of the putter, to the 6061 Military Grade Aluminium to create a full circle offering more resistance to twisting and turning. The result is a striking putter that is extremely stable throughout the putting stroke.

Featuring the patented F.I.T (Feel Impact Technology) Face that eliminates the need for an insert thanks to the Bettinardi milling process, the high MOI mallet features a soft feel at impact with a topline alignment aid and two lines on the brushed Stainless Steel.

The iNOVAi 5.0 is available right-handed in standard and centre-shafted options with a 70° lie, 2° loft and 1/8 toe hang, along with a black and red deep-etched Lamkin grip corded grip in standard or jumbo size.

STUDIO STOCK SERIES - RRP £309

    studio-stock-line-up-2018

Continuing into 2018, the Studio Stock Series and Queen B models were big favourites across many categories this year.

Given a seal of approval by multiple PGA Tour winner and brand ambassador Matt Kuchar, the Studio Stock models (SS3, SS8 AND SS28) made from Soft Carbon Steel feature a Mercury Grey finish providing a confidence-inspiring look at address. All three models incorporate the brand’s F.I.T Face milling.

    QUEEN B SERIES - RRP £309

    queen-b-line-up-2018

The Queen B Series was the UK’s best-seller this year and features the exclusive Bettinardi Micro Honeycomb Face milling, allowing for a muted, yet crisp feel at impact for players looking for constant speed and feel.

Designed to combine performance with stunning looks, the QB8 and QB9 feature swarming bees milled onto the Satin Silver Sole, with the look finished by an eye-catching white and gold Lamkin grip.

    H2 303 SS WEDGE - RRP £139

    2018 H2 303 SS WEDGE BANNER

The brand new H2 303 Stainless Steel wedge from Bettinardi provides players with tried and tested technology transferred from the popular putter range. The patented Honeycomb face-milling featured between each groove creates more friction between club and ball, providing a tighter spin in both wet and dry conditions to keep the ball under control.

While the C-Groove versatile sole grind makes it easier for those delicate touches around the green or from sand.

Bettinardi Golf launch eye-catching putter range“We chose Stainless Steel as the base metal for our wedges as it provides golfers with a sturdier feel, longer lasting and more forgiving club head,” said Sam.

The H2 303 Stainless Steel wedge is available is six loft options (50° – 60°), 64° lie and a variation of three bounce (8°, 10° or 12°). The KBS Hi-Rev Tour shaft comes as standard along with the Lamkin Crossline Cord grip. The wedges are available at a recommended retail price of £139.

All Bettinardi putters come with a distinctive headcover at the following recommended retail price: All BB Series (£279); iNOVAi 5.0 (£279); All Studio Stock Series (£309); and both Queen Bee models (£309).
